Inspiration Avenue - which is your favourite month?

March

This week’s Inspiration Avenue theme asked us to create art inspired by our favourite month. For me March is my favourite.

Why? March is the month of my birth and as you may guess, from my contribution above, my star sign is Pisces. On my Birthday I always buy a new written journal and reflect on the years behind and in front of me. I love Birthdays and not just my own; I like to make a fuss for everyone’s Birthdays. I don’t view getting another year older as a negative (although ask me again when I’m much older ;-) ) but as a celebration of the gift of life. Oh and a good excuse to eat cake!

March is still winter but nearly Spring; nature and the weather can be so awe inspiring at this time. It is also the month we celebrate Mother’s Day and occasionally Easter. For me March shines with possibilities and is a celebration of life; new, old and future.
  • Which month is your favourite? And why? (If you've already answered this for the Inspiration Avenue challenge then I shall look forward to visiting your blog to see your answer).
  • Which month makes you appreciate life in its various stages?

  1. my favourite month is generally the month I'm in, unless it's going badly. But I think each month has so much to enjoy in it.... well maybe except for November, which is my least favourite month...

  2. I love October for the beautiful colours: russet, brown red, orange. I also love March for the beginning of Spring when eveything is waking up around us.

  3. January's looking pretty good at the moment (-:

Love that you buy a new journal on your birthday each year. Looking forward to seeing your artwork...

  4. I'm with Julie, I like October for the colors, but also for football, marching bands, pumpkins, jack-o-lanterns, pumpkin desserts and harvest. It is a gathering time, hunkering down for winter.

  5. Hurrah! I've now managed to load a photo of my artwork. Sorry to those of you who reached my post earlier and just found a note to say it was missing. Technology, always a joy. LOL. Kat X

  6. Crafty Green Poet - I think you're right. Every month has potential to be a good one & has its own charms. Interesting about November being your least favourite. Any reason? Or maybe you can't share. November is when both my children were born so it is special but very busy :-)

Julie - I love Autumn colours and weirdly despite my favourite month being March, I'd say Autumn may be my favourite month. (I know doesn't make much sense):-)

Megan - I'm very glad January has been good to you :-) My art work is now up. X

Mlissabeth - yes I can appreciate the loveliness in October :-) Like I said above I do love Autumn.

  13. Thank you SO much for visiting so many times this past week, Kat. I have been SO busy, I didn't even post yesterday. I wanted to let you know how grateful I am, not just for visiting on the IA challenge day, but also for being so sweet and visiting other days, too.

Your drawings are always stunning, and I am mesmerized by them. This is no exception. Like you, I LOVE birthdays. They are individual, unlike Christmas or other holidays shared by many.

You asked about the software I used on Sunday to make Bleubeard into a puzzle and stamp. Here is the link:

Thanks again for being so sweet about visiting.

  18. Very nice. I could write "very nice" on all your art. I really like the happiness in it.

My favourite month... :-\ I can't really pick a month by season. I was born Southern Hemisphere and only moved to the North (Scotland) 8 years ago. I can sense season's changing here, just as I could sense it in Africa, but to put a month on that is tricky when my "mid winter" birthday falls in Summer now (Leo). So... I'll go with December for Christmas/Yule traditions and songs.

  19. Hi Michelle - thanks for stopping by my blog. I found it hard to choose one month for this challenge simply because there's something to be good to be found in every month really. But my Birthday month won.
    Kat :-)
