"Joy In The Post" Blog PARTY & GIVEAWAY!!!

Approximately a year ago my good friend Lisa (priti) invited me and six other ladies to participate in a round robin art journal swap. If you're a regular reader you may have seen some of my contributions to other journals. This experience was one of the most inspirational and joy filled creative things I've done. This post is part of our blog party celebration of our fabulous experience! After sending our journals out into the world we were rewarded with their return full of gorgeous thoughtfully created art. What follows is photos of my treasured completed journal. And at the end of this photographic tour will be the chance for you to enter into a fab art goodie GIVEAWAY. More details of that after these photos........

The first person to contribute to my journal was me, lol, but I already shared those pages here in my Bon Voyage post at the beginning of the swap.

After me came the lovely and talented Lisa Wright. I'm sure you'll agree her stunning use of collage, texture, colour and beautifully strong ladies are amazing! And along with the words these pages hold so much meaning and beauty to treasure. Here are the pages she created for me:

After Lisa my journal travelled from the UK to the USA to be adorned with Tammy's creative talent! Tammy's pages wowed me with layered painting and tactile touch. The adorable birds exude joy and I loved the whimsical hearts on the branches. The wise snowy owl with its soft feathers sits on snowy branches adorned with wonderful words that I've read and read. So much to treasure. Take a look at what I mean:

The next fab lady to create in my travelling journal was Stephanie. Her use of strong colour and the personalised mandala she created made my heart sing! Especially wonderful is the way all eight of us are joined together in a dancing celebration in this beautiful mandala. Here are the pages she created for me:

Next came the lady who began this exciting journey:  Lisa of Priti fame. The pages she gifted me filled me with awe and gratitude. With a quote beautifully written, a stunning painted lady, layers colours and textures expertly blended and a personalised mandala that captured all of us - her pages are divine. Take a look......

The next pages were created by Maggie. Not only did Maggie honour me with a gorgeous mandala but she capture the essence of my childhood and inner love of reading, trees and nature in a stunning spread that I adore! Perfect quotes too - I love it! Here are her pages in my journal:

Next up comes the fabulous Kim. She is the master of collage, vibrant colour, paint/layering effects and the ability to beautifully fuse words and images. I love these pages and my favourite thing is that although I have looked at them many times I always seem to discover something new & am inspired afresh each time! Here are Kim's pages in my journal:

My final pages were beautifully created by Angie who seemed to know me well with her choice of butterfly theme, beautiful layered paint effects, words, glitz and glitter - all the pretty girly sparkly joy that I love. It makes me so happy to have these pages to treasure! Here are Angie's pretty pages:

I hope you enjoyed a look inside my art journal. We’d love to inspire you to begin or further your art journaling adventures. Therefore, as part of this blog party, we’re hosting a big giveaway. For your chance to win lots of art goodies with which to start your own art journal or art journal swap, all you need to do is visit and leave comments on all of our blogs. (Links to blogs can be found by clicking each participants name by their pages in this post above). The prizes include an art journal and many arts and crafts supplies most of which can be viewed on Lisa's blog **late ammendment - and below**. We hope you enjoy sharing in our Joy in the Post blog party.

Cheers to friendship and creativity!!

Oh and here's a sneak preview of some of the prizes...

  1. The Round Robin is a great idea Kat and has ended with such wonderful examples of each participant's work. I'm afraid my remoteness makes such a collaboration quite expensive.

    1. Hi Jo - thanks for visiting. Yes, I suppose postage costs could be difficult. Are there people living close enough in your area which you could do swap with? Or perhaps a virtual swap of some kind... if I get any more ideas I shall let you know.
      Kat :-)

    2. The more I look at the posts about this, the more interested I am. There are certainly enough Aussie artists around to do it....but a 'virtual' book?
I'm going to approach a few 'arty' friends to see if we can do it.

    3. Jo - definitely, where there's a will there's a way don't they say? :-) Personally I'd rather do a physical swap rather than a digital as it is wonderful to touch and hold and savour the layers/colours/textures. So if you can find a way to do this then that would be great. Thanks for getting so involved in the creative party spirit.
      Kat :-)
